The route of this journey runs through picturesque gorges, olive and orange plantations, as well as original and mountain villages.
We start with a visit to the Cave of God’s Wisdom, or St. Sophia’s Cave, which is one of the many stalactite caves. One of the beliefs says that the hooves of the horse of St. George the Victorious left an imprint on one of the rocks. In the cave, there is a chapel of the same name, where a miraculous icon is hidden.
Then we will stop to taste thyme honey and olive oil, as well as various jams and sweets that have been lovingly produced on the family farm for many years.
We follow up with the Monastery of Chrysoskalitis. It is calm and, at the same time, majestic, joyful and harmonious, blissful, and comfortable for the soul. One of the most revered relics of the Orthodox world is kept on the monastery’s territory – the icon of the Assumption of the Virgin, which is more than 1000 years old! This place has given healing and enlightenment to many believers.
At the end of the tour, we will enjoy Elafonisi Beach, a real paradise on earth. The beaches are famous for their clear water and pink sand. People from all over the world come to Elafonisi in search of beauty: bloggers, photographers, famous artists, surfers, windsurfers, and divers.
Boarding the coach for departure to the hotel.
On the way back, you will see another miracle of Crete: Komolifi, small hills made of soft clay that, over time, took on amazing cone-shaped figures. There are no other such hills in Crete.
