*You must wear comfortable clothes and shoes, a hat, and put on sunscreen (use on all parts of your skin exposed to the sun, including the ears, back, shoulders, and the back of the knees and legs). Our way will first lead to the south of the capital Heraklion. We will make several stops to admire the view and take memorable pictures.
Our first stop is the family winery, where you will try five different varieties of wine supplemented with a local cheese plate. Along the guided tour, learn how wine is made from various grapes and how the unique semi-mountainous environment influences the flavor.
It’s time for lunch! The small tavern with a long tradition of good local food will be the next stop for a great, authentic Cretan meal. As an added bonus, the owner will provide a local product tasting and reveal a few secrets for housewives and food lovers. A traditional meal will complete our tour.
The second winery will bring a different type of experience. The winery will welcome you for a wine-tasting session on its stone-built premises. The young owners continue the winery tradition, experiment, and advance the winemaking process, which you will have a chance to learn about.
